Parents

So I'm pretty proud of myself for coming up with this gift.  Like all my gift-giving experiences, it grew out of "necessity".  Ben and I had already decided that the best gift would be to spend time with our parents, espcially since his parents live in another state and will be in town only for a week before the wedding.  So we thought it would be nice to take them all out to a nice dinner the week of the wedding.

I still wanted to give them something tangible though.  Well, we have two ring bearers.  In the process of deciding what they should carry, I stumbled across ring bowls on etsy (seller palomasnest) that you can customize.  Then I had to come up with what they should each say since we'd need two bowls... and then it hit me!  Each bowl is engraved with either set of parents' names and wedding date.  I really like the symbolism and it will make a nice gift :)

Here is the clever (if I do say so myself) and inexpensive gift wrapping I did for my Bridesmaid gifts.  I bought white kraft 8x10 bags for $.59 at the paper store and a multipack of a bajillion colors of tissue paper at the Dollar Tree for, you guessed it, a $1.  Then, I printed out all their names in font Montery BT about size 230.  Cut, measured and taped it to the inside of the bag.  I got some really nice art pens and colored them in with their favorite colors (which i found out when I did a little "get to know each other"/me-being-tricky email).  Then I got some matching (with a contrasting color too) tissue paper to come out the top to finish it off.  I think it is an inexpensive way to give the gifts just a little something extra!
