Flowers, decorations and other things that drive me crazy

Bridal Bouquet

I'm pretty petite, so whatever I choose, it won't be too big.  I really like the hand-tied bouquets that are 'loose' with soft flowers.

Since their dresses will be green, I really wanted a color that would pop against it and purple was what we decided on.  Ben actually suggested it and it's turned out to be the perfect color.  Nothing else will really be purple, only floral accents here and there (like on the invitations) because I don't want a "purple and green wedding".  I really wanted to focus on the green, but realized (with the advise of a friend) that it might be too flat.

I really love some of these bouquets and am sad that August is too late for sweet peas.  I'm actually going to try to grow them, so we'll see what happens...

Lisianthus is another really pretty flower (bottom left, dark purple) that I hope to incorporate.  I don't have a 'favorite' flower per say, it's the soft romantic look with shades of purple that are the most important to me.

Here's a really pretty lisianthus bouquet on the left.

Groomsmen's Boutonnieres

These will be purple to match the girls.

Not sure yet what the dads/grandfather will wear, possibly a white/purple combination.

Centerpieces

We both had different ideas for the centerpieces so... we're having two.  Half of the tables will have a branch centerpiece similar to the one on the left and half will have a submerged flower/floating candel centerpiece like the one on the right.

**I apologize that I can't remember which knottie's wedding this was.  If it was yours or you know, let me know!**

I already bought some tall vases that flare a little at the top, sort of like a calla lily and tried this with curly willow.

I'm also going to have the florist put some single orchids up higher so it blends a little better.

The pictures below are other photos of similar centerpieces (taken from TheKnot).  I really liked the hanging votives and was going to do them, but I started to wonder if it would be too complicated.  Instead we'll use tall votive candle holders in addition to low votives the venue provides.

We're going to have two (12" and 8") and a centerpiece sign for these arrangements.

The venue provides tea lights and then we'll sprinkle some of the loose orchids on the table, which I think will look really nice on the brown linens.

Each table will also have a little sign: both sides will have a year on them, one side will have pictures of each of us that year and the other side will have some trivia for that year that will be different at every table.  Some examples are: celebraties born the year we were born, Billboard Top 10 Hits or Academy Award winning movies.  It was important to us to make it elegant and personal and I think this accomplishes that.  (This will also replaces having a slideshow, which I don't want to do)
